Solar collectors, building integration, controls and system options for ventilation and process air.
THE TECHNOLOGY, EXPLAINED
How the collector heats incoming air.
A dark, micro-perforated absorber on a sun-facing façade or roof captures solar energy. Fans draw outdoor air through the perforations into an air cavity, then into the facility’s air-handling system or process air supply. This offsets heat that would otherwise be supplied by boilers, burners or other conventional equipment.
SolarWall heats air directly rather than producing electricity. The collector itself contains no liquid circuit, although the complete installation includes fans, dampers, ducts and controls.
A SolarWall collector belongs to a complete air-handling system. The useful result depends on absorption, pressure and airflow, solar exposure, duty cycle, controls and the baseline heat supply.
01 / TRANSPIRED ABSORBER
Direct solar-to-air transfer
A perforated metal absorber receives solar radiation; ventilation fans draw fresh air through the warm surface. The process avoids a separate fluid loop for basic air preheating.
02 / AIRFLOW
Air rate drives usable heat
SolarWall Global describes 2–10 cfm per square foot of collector in industrial configurations, depending on project design. Fan duty, plenum pressure and distribution affect the outcome.
03 / TEMPERATURE
Thermal lift depends on the day
SolarWall Türkiye publishes indicative diffuse-light lifts of 5–15 °C and sunny-day values of 25–40 °C for its Single-Stage descriptions. These are indicative rather than guaranteed for a facility.
04 / INTEGRATION
Connect to existing AHU systems
Coordinate supply ducting, air-handling units, fan and damper controls, heating-coil backup and the summer bypass with required air quality and process conditions.
05 / CONTROL
Solar heat only when useful
Control strategies compare collector and ambient temperatures with the required setpoint, schedule and process operating state; integration may include roof heat or return-air blending.
06 / MEASUREMENT
Make reported savings auditable
Instrument collector inlet and outlet temperatures, air volume, weather inputs, relevant damper states and baseline energy. Report delivered useful kWh separately from calculated fuel displacement.
60–85%*SolarWall Türkiye publishes this indicative thermal-efficiency range for certain configurations. Actual installed-system results depend on collector specification, air flow, weather and operating schedule.
