What industrial SolarWall case studies actually show

Documented SolarWall applications range from ceramic process air to aviation hangars. Their value comes from the specific load and integration design, not from applying one universal performance figure.

PROJECT EVIDENCE

Different plants, different thermal jobs

01 / ENGINEERING NOTE

Eczacıbaşı VitrA Karo | spray drying

The published project profile describes a 1,450 m² solar air heating façade serving the ATM-52 and ATM-36 spray dryers, with 52,000 m³/h of design airflow. The published 1.9-year payback and 1,407.6 tCO₂ per year are planning figures, not independently verified post-commissioning outcomes.

02 / ENGINEERING NOTE

Philip Morris Torbalı | tobacco drying

The SolarWall Türkiye project page describes a 50 m² collector delivering 5,000 m³/h of preheated air, integrating solar input with roof waste-heat recovery. It reports 265,000 kWh thermal output and approximately 54.3 tonnes of CO₂ reduction per year. This is the site-specific published case claim.

03 / ENGINEERING NOTE

NASA Dryden | hangar ventilation

The Conserval SolarWall case reports a 372 m² south-facing collector preheating 18,000 cfm of fresh air, addressing hangar ventilation and negative pressure. Annual dollar savings were a historical projection based on early-2000s fuel prices, not a current EUR benchmark.

04 / ENGINEERING NOTE

Marks & Spencer | distribution centre

The documented Castle Donington logistics installation covered approximately 4,330 m². The case study presents 1.1 GWh annual heat savings and over 250 tonnes of annual CO₂ reduction as expectations. These values should not be generalised across sites.

The common thread

All four cases demonstrate the need to quantify useful air demand, physical integration and baseline energy. Read the individual project profiles for the exact technical context and reporting basis.
